Gunpowder Tea is a well-known Chinese green tea, native to Zhejiang Province, in the eastern coast of China. This famous tea gets its name from the shape of the leaves. Rolled into tiny black pellets, it likes gunpowder grains. Pingshui Gunpowder tea is the most common variety and it is usually sold as Temple of Heaven Gunpowder or Pinhead Gunpowder. Pingshui is the name of the town in the Zhejiang province where this tea was first grown. Our General Manager Mr. Song Zheng is the 4th generation Pingshui Gunpowder tea successor and 40+ years’ tea taster.
Gunpowder Tea 9374
In the Gunpowder tea grading system, numbers indicate quality levels: 3505 (Special/AAA) is the highest grade, followed by 9372 (Grade 1), 9373 (Grade 2), 9374 (Grade 3), and 9375 (Grade 4). While higher grades have smaller, more uniformly rolled pellets, Grade 9374 strikes the optimal balance between quality and affordability—delivering a robust, full-bodied flavor at a competitive wholesale price. This makes 9374 the preferred choice for large-volume buyers serving mass-market consumption.
With its robust flavor profile and excellent shelf stability, 9374 is a versatile choice that serves three major export markets: Morocco (for traditional mint tea), Europe , and Central Asia (for everyday household consumption).

Brewing Guide
Proper brewing enhances the flavor of Gunpowder Tea 9374:
Water Temperature: 70–80°C (158–176°F). Avoid boiling water, which can scorch the leaves and create bitterness.
Tea-to-Water Ratio: 1 teaspoon per 150ml (5.07 oz) of water.
Steeping Time: 1 minute for first infusion; 1–2 minutes for subsequent infusions. The leaves can be steeped 3–4 times.
Pre-warm Vessels: Rinse your teapot or cup with hot water before brewing to maintain optimal temperature.
Pro Tip for Moroccan Tea: Simmer the tea leaves with water for 3–5 minutes before adding generous amounts of fresh mint and sugar to taste.
